In 1950 Bishop Boland closed the mission church in Lafayette (St. Bartholomew's) and established our parish at a more centrally located spot to care for the Catholic community of Branchville, Frankford (Augusta) and Lafayette Townships. A building was purchased on Route 206 and over the past years, with renovation, has come to serve presently over 700 families. Our religious Education Program numbers over 100 children from Pre-K to our Confirmation program and an ever-growing youth and adult faith formation ministry.  We have been a parish for over 70 years with these pastors:
Rev. Augustine Varricchio 1950-1952
Rev. James J. Daly 1952-1954
Rev. John D. Pokrywka 1954-1963
Rev. James J. Donnelly 1963-1967
Rev. John F. Wall 1967-1977
Rev. Bernard F. Feeney 1977-1989Â
Msgr. William P. Stober 1989 -2015
Rev. Edward G. Rama 2015 - 2019
Rev. Brendan Murray 2019
Rev. Philip-Michael F. Tangorra 2019 - Present
Our Lady of the Lake Chapel was built by 1925. The mission was transferred  -  from being administered by St. Joseph's in Newton to Our Lady Queen of Peace in 1952. That property was sold in 1976.
The chapel sat on that now empty corner [if you turn Left when heading north on the very first road past the light after Dale's Market].Â
