It is the role of Readers at Mass and in other celebrations of the sacred liturgy to proclaim the readings of the Sacred Scriptures. Readers are to be “people who are truly suited to carrying out this function and carefully prepared, so that by hearing the readings from the sacred texts the faithful may conceive in their hearts a sweet and living affection for Sacred Scripture. (GIRM, 101)”
If you are interested in becoming a Reader, please contact the parish office.
In accord with canons 910 §2 and 230 §3, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest and deacon in the distribution of Holy Communion when there is need for their assistance, such as at Sunday Masses and cooperating in the pastoral care of the sick and homebound.
This special ministry provides the lay faithful with a unique opportunity to pray with the sick and homebound and, in accord with the prescribed Rite of the Church, provide their brothers and sisters in Christ with the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ Himself in the Eucharist.
If you are interested in becoming an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, please contact the parish office.
